Man Reportedly D+es While Attempting to Ste@l Agemo Deity
Residents of Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, were shocked on Saturday morning to find the iconic golden Agemo statue at Mafowoku roundabout removed—and a man lying lifeless beside it.

The statue, which has stood for over 21 years along Folagbade Road, was reportedly targeted by an unidentified man believed to be attempting to steal it.
A viral video showed the suspect in a blue top, motionless near the fallen figure of the revered deity.

Eyewitness Hakeem Quadri, a local resident, confirmed the incident, saying, “It happened right in front of my house. People gathered early in the morning, and when I came out, the statue was gone, and the man believed to have removed it was d+ad on the ground.”
Sources say the body has since been taken to the mortuary.
