Man divorces his wife for refusing to contribute financially to their home after he trained her in school and opened a business for her

A Nigerian man has filed for divorce from his wife, whom he sponsored through school and established a business for, after she refused to support him with her earnings.

The story was shared on X by user , who seems to be close to the husband. He shared the story while reacting to a tweet by one @ugwumcee, which read, “Anybody who wants the man to solely finance the home in today’s world of dual income is selfish.”

According to @budgetOdogwu, the man trained his wife in school and opened a business for her after she said she didn’t want to work with her certificate.

After the wife started earning from her business, the husband demanded that she contributes financially to their home, but she refused, stating that he shouldn’t have married her when he knew he couldn’t take care of her.
