‘Senator Tompolo’ arrested for alleged €5.7million internet fr@ud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested a fake Senator, Ifechukwu Tom Makwe for alleged €5.7million internet fr@ud.

It was gathered that the suspect was arrested at the Guzape area of Abuja following credible intelligence about his alleged internet-related fr@ud activities.

EFCC in a statement on Monday, June 26, said upon his arrest, it was discovered that the suspect, bearing many aliases (Fahad Makwe, Senator Tompolo, Tom Makwe, Dr. Bran), defr@uded a Spaniard of €5.7million.

“Makwe allegedly claimed to be a US Federal Bureau of Investigatio (FBI) agent and diplomatic solicitor, and succeeded in defr@uding his victim using fake identities.

The suspect allegedly started defr@uding the victim since 2013 when he first met her on social media,” the statement reads.
