At least one person sustained b¥rnt inj¥ries when a section of the popular Alaba international market in Ojo, Lagos was g¥tted by fir£ on Friday afternoon, May 5.
It’s unclear what started the fir£, but a video obtained captured the moment the inj¥red victim, a young boy, was wheeled away by his colleagues.
Meanwhile, Adeseye Margaret, director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, said an angry mob is preventing the firefi¥hters from quelling the inferno.
“Emergency Alert! Report reaching Lagos State Fir£ and Rescue Service indicates shops at the popular Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos are on Fir£.
However, Fir£ Crew from Ojo, Sari-Iganmu and Ajegunle are being turned back by angry mobs from performing their statutory duty but presently on standby.
The agency is consequently collaborating with Security agents to address it,” she said.
