Students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Awka, Anambra State, on Monday, January 9, staged a protest over the k#lling of their colleague by armed robb£rs.
It was gathered that the 200L student of the department of Philosophy, identified simply as Daniel, was reportedly sh@t de@d by armed robb£rs while trying to recover his phone from them in his Ifite-Awka lodge.
According to reports, Daniel lost his life on Sunday evening, January 8, while trying to collect his SIM card from the armed robb£rs that came to raid his lodge.
Nigerian Tribune reports that after giving his phone to the armed robb£rs, Daniel requested for his Sim card which the robb£rs agreed to give to him. Holding an already set g¥n and struggling to remove a phone on a tight pack to give Daniel’s Sim to him resulted in the mistake pull of the tr¥gger.
During the process, he was sh@t in his stomach. He was quickly rushed to the hospital, but sadly gave up the ghost due to the excess loss of bl@@d.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga said: “I got this unfortunate information from the Unizik SUG president, yesternight. Police patrol has been on since then. I urge the witness of the incident to help us with information to investigate, please.”
The students who lamented the incessant robb£ry att@cks on them took to the street to protest as they demand for justice for their colleague.
