Sacked driver leads gang to kidnap former boss’ wife in Rivers

The police in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, have arrested one Tigidam Bright, a driver, for allegedly leading a gang of kidnappers to kidnap his boss’ wife after he was dismissed from his job.

Bright was arrested on Friday, December 4, alongside two other suspected kidnappers, Isaac Michael and Leera Barisua by operatives of the Inspector-General of the Police Intelligence Response Team.

According to reports, the victim, Mrs Gift Topba, was kidnapped on August 25, 2020 and was released after the family paid N500,000 ransom.

The suspects were arrested after IRT detectives traced a mobile phone the gang used for negotiating the ransom to an unnamed man.
