A Lagos High Court sitting at Tafawa Balewa Square has sentenced Andrew Nice Ominikoron, a BRT driver, to de@th by h@ng+ng for the m¥rder of 22-year-old fashion designer, Bamise Ayanwola.
Justice Sherifat Sonaike, delivering the judgment on Friday, ruled that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt, citing the victim’s d¥ing declaration and the legal principle of “last seen” to establish Ominikoron’s guilt.
Ominikoron faced a five-count charge, including conspiracy, r@pe, m¥rder, and s+x¥al a+s@ult. Bamise was last seen on February 26, 2022, after boarding a BRT bus driven by the convict in the Ajah area.
Her disappearance triggered public outrage and a massive search. Her b%dy was discovered nine days later on Carter Bridge, Lagos Island.
