Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 men’s football World Cup, while Spain, Portugal, and Morocco have been named joint hosts for the 2030 tournament, Fifa has announced.
To mark the competition’s 100th anniversary, three matches in the 2030 World Cup will also take place in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, the birthplace of the first tournament in 1930.
The decision was confirmed during Fifa’s Extraordinary Congress on Wednesday, where all 211 member nations participated via video link.
Two separate votes were held to finalise the hosts. The first vote selected Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina as centenary hosts, while the second confirmed Spain, Portugal, and Morocco as the primary hosts for 2030. It also awarded Saudi Arabia hosting rights for 2034.
