Atsi Kefas, the younger sister of the Taraba State governor, has passed away from gunsh%t wounds sustained during an att+ck in Kente village, Wukari Local Government Area.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred last Thursday when g¥nmen ambushed the vehicle carrying Atsi, 44, and her mother, Jumai Kefas.
DailyTrust reports that in the confusion, a police officer assigned to protect the family unintentionally sh%t Atsi while responding to the att+ckers.
After initial treatment at the Teaching Hospital in Wukari, she was transferred to an undisclosed hospital in Abuja, where she later succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday, December 10.
