UNILORIN expels student over alleged s+xual mol£§tation of a 17-yr-old girl, others

The Management of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has expelled a postgraduate student, Mathew Adeboye Balogun a.k.a Plato, over alleged s+xual a§§ault of vuln£rable students and admission seekers including a 17-year-old girl.

The Master’s student at the Department of Councillor Education, Faculty of Education of the university, became a viral sensation last year after being called out for his despicable acts, especially for mol£§ting and thr£@tening an 100 level student of the school who was only 17 at the time.

According to Unilorin Bulletin issued on Monday, Balogun was expelled having been found guilty of allegation of s+xual mol£§tation committed against vuln£rable students and admission seekers into the university.

The publication stated that the notification of the expulsion in a letter from the University’s Student Affairs Unit with Reference number: UIL/SAU/SAO/2024/01, titled, “Re: Allegation of Misconduct against Balogun, Mathew Adeboye”, dated Wednesday, January 3, 2024 and signed by the Deputy Registrar, Student Affairs, Mr. Moses Opaleke, copy of which was made available to journalists.

“Kindly recall that the social media was set agog with the report of s+xual mol£§tation by Balogun, Matthew Adeboye Matriculation number 14/25OD062 (aka Plato).

Subsequently, he was invited to appear before the Student Disciplinary Committee on October 16, 2023, which he did not honour.

At the second sitting of October 19, 2023, of the Student Disciplinary Committee when he showed up, he admitted to the second charge against him for misconducting himself in such a way that he took unlawful and undue advantages of vuln£rable students and admission seekers by s+xually mol£§ting them under the pretence that he could influence their results and or offer them admissions into the university, contrary to Clause 3(a) viii, 3(b) and 4(k) of Students’ Information and Regulations Handbook

On October 25, 2023, he was served his letter of expulsion and consequently expelled from the university,” the letter reads.
