No fewer than 22 military personnel who di£d in combat in Niger State were on Friday, August 25, laid to rest at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja.
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) had on August 14 announced the d£ath of at least 36 officers who were k#lled when their helicopter was sh%t down by some insurgents in the Zungeru area of Niger State.
The troops were deployed to Kundu village in Wushishi Local Government Area after bandits t£rrorized the area recently.
Some of the deceased officers had already been b¥ried by their various families, remaining the 22 being interred on Friday.
