Again, soldiers a§§ault LASTMA officer in alleged reprisal att@ck

Some Irate soldiers, in the early hours of Monday, August 14, 2023, in the Ojota area of Lagos State, po¥nc£d on one of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officers, b£ating him to st¥por over a yet-to-be-determined traffic off£nc£.

According to Vanguard, an eyewitness noted that the incident happened at 8 am, when soldiers numbering eight, got hold of the LASTMA officer and b£at him for several minutes.

In a video that has gone viral, the soldiers were seen b£ating up the LASTMA officer as he begged profusely to be left alone.

One of the att@ck£rs was seen batt£ring the officer to the ground as other LASTMA officers fl£d the scene.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that the action was in retaliation over an incident where LASTMA officers were alleged to have b£aten up a soldier in the same Ojota area last week.

It would be recalled that on Friday, August 11, a team of military officers and stormed the area to reciprocate what was done to their colleague by a LASTMA official.

In today’s incident, the invading soldiers, arm£d with g¥ns, descended on the officer with p¥nch£s and planks before disappearing from the scene. It was gathered that the victim, in a state of stupor, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr Bolaji Oreagba, through the Director of Operations, Mr A. Peter confirmed the incident to newsmen. “We have reported the incident to the higher authorities of the army. They are already intervening in the matter,” he said.
