Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the director general of the World Trade Organization (WTO), has responded to allegations that she purposefully chose not to post pictures of herself and Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the New Global Financing Pact summit in Paris, France.
According to Okonjo-Iweala, she posted the images in the chronological order in which she received them from her staff. She said the attacks that she ignored President Tinubu were unnecessary.
Okonjo-Iweala responded to online criticism by tweeting, “Reading the meanings of the photos I posted shows how polarized Nigerian society has become.”
