A staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) Kehinde Fatinoye, was on Sunday, m¥rdered by a§§assins in Ogun State.
He was k#lled alongside his wife, who was until the incident a Principal Confidential Secretary at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, FUNAAB.
It is reported that the unknown individuals had stormed the Ibara GRA residence of the couple at a time they just returned from the New Year crossover service. The couple were k#lledand set abl@ze by their assailants inside their house.
Also, the couple’s son and domestic staff were reportedly taken away by the a§§assins.
Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident, said: “It is true the incident happened. Investigation has commenced. Somebody has been arrested in connection with the incident. The man and his wife were k#lled and we are yet to find their child who was taken away.”
He further confirmed: “The incident happened after 12 in the morning. This is a clear case of a§§assination and we are not leaving any stone unturned to unravel those behind the k#llings.”
Reacting to the incident, the spokesperson of FUNAAB, Kola Adepoju, described the de@th of the couple as ‘gr¥esome and a rude shock’ to the university community. A cousin to the late Mr Fatinoye, Ambrose Somide, said he could not fathom what was responsible for the dastardly act.
