At least three persons were k#lled on Monday morning, December 12, as police repelled an att@ck on the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Owerri, Imo State.
It was gathered that the assailants started sh@@ting at the facility as early as around 2am and throwing locally made bombs, which razed some parts of the INEC headquarters before the Police intervention.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mike Abbatam, said three g¥nmen were k#lled while two firebombs were recovered from the scene.
