Maid reportedly k*lls ex-Gov. Igbinedion’s mom, disappears with her money, jewelry

Maria Oredola Igbinedion, mother to two-time former governor of Edo State, Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion, has reportedly been k*lled by one of her living-in maids.


The 85-year-old d*ed on Thursday, December 2, at her home in Ugbo area of Benin, Edo State.

According to the TheWill, she was str*ngled to d*ath by the maid, who went on to ransacked her home for jewelry and money before disappearing into thin air.

“Maria had remained confined to a wheel chair since her 80th birthday, unable to move around. Efforts are being made to track and apprehend the k*ller thief who is reportedly from Cross River State.

Security forces have been activated to fish her out and the late woman’s children have vowed to stop at nothing to track her, even if it means going to her village to arrest her family members,” TheWill reports.

Lucky Nosakhare had confirmed the passing of his mom in a statement on Friday, December 3, stating that she is survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

“With gratitude to God for a fruitful and eventful life, we announce the transition to glory of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Madam Maria Oredola Igbinedion who joined the Saints in the early hours of December 2, 2021, at the age of 85.
