Akorede, a 300 level student of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, is currently writhing in pains in a hospital after he was sh*t in the leg by an unidentified police officer attached to Oru divisional police headquarters.
It was gathered that the incident happened during a stop-and- search in the Odogbolu area of the state on Wednesday, October 13. “The police officer searched his phone and found nothing. An argument ensued and the suspect brought out his g*n and sh*t the victim in his leg. He almost ran away but was caught by residents who witnessed the incident.
For fear of the officer being lyn*hed, he was taken to the police station while the victim was rushed to the hospital. The b*llet has been extracted from his leg but we doubt Akorede would be able to walk properly again. The Federal Government should please take a concrete action against police br*tality in the country,” a source said.
