Man bags 10yrs in jail for raping a woman who mistook his car for her prebooked cab

Southwark Crown Court, in London, has sentenced a Nigerian man, Sola Austin Warikwah, 36, to 10 years imprisonment for raping a woman who mistook his car for her pre-booked mini-cab.

It was gathered that the security guard committed the crime after the 25-year-old woman got into his car at Embankment, London early on 22 April 2019.

She mistakenly thought it was cab booked to take her home. Instead, Warikwah drove her to a multi-storey car park in Victoria where he raped her. The building was one of the sites he was patrolling in central London at night as part of his job.

He was found guilty by the Court on Thursday, December 17, and sentenced to seven years for rape, with an additional three years to serve on licence, bringing the total to 10 years imprisonment.
