Husband burns #Ekiti monarch to death for allegedly snatching his wife

35-year-old Onibedo of Ilotin, #EkitiState, Chief Sola Fatunla, has been brutally murdered and set ablaze by one Sunday.

It was learnt that Sunday, a charcoal businessman, had accused Fatunla of having an affair with his former wife, Tadeni. Both Sunday and Tadeni were married and had two kids before their marriage collapsed. .

However, when Sunday discovered that Tadeni and Fatunla were merely family friends, he apologised to him. .

At other time, Sunday pleaded with Fatunla to assist him in using his position as a chief in Ikole Ekiti to plead with those he claimed seized his charcoal. .

But while accompanying him to where his charcoal was seized on Sunday, the suspect allegedly connived with others to abduct Fatunla and his ex wife.

The victims were tied to trees. Fatunla was beaten with cutlasses and later set ablaze. It was when they came back to mete punishment out to Tadeni that they realised that she had escaped. .

Sunday and his accomplices were caught by vigilantes in Patigi, #KwaraState, while trying to escape to #BenueState where they are from. During interrogation, Chief Fatunla’s stolen phone rang inside Sunday’s pocket but he refused to pick it. .

However, one of the vigilantes collected the phone and answered the call only to be told that the owner of the phone was abducted. The vigilantes then handed them over to the police.
