A Nigerian lawyer has reflected on how the economy has drastically affected her cost of living, lamenting the stark difference from her financial situation in 2021.
She said in 2021, she was earning steady 350k aside small small jobs. Shelived better, she was happier. She goes to supermarket, she shopped real good. She bought all the exotic things she saw. Her house was a stop of uneaten stuff. She flew anyhow. She was living a good babe’ life in her own level.
In 2024, she earn way more. Still can’t pack seedless grapes, endless plums, exotic supermarket stuffs. She is so unhappy that the money is coming and she still don’t know where it is going to because she does not eat half those shit anymore. She just stick to basic food and she is wishing $1/2k
She was shopping clothes, shoes, bags every month.. IG prices o. I was doing Red Tag.
Fast forward 2024, she earn way more but she live like a thrifter. Can’t remember when last I ordered anything from IG. Light bill doubled 300% but she swear to God, she earn way more.
