Naira Ab¥se: Court reportedly sentences Bobrisky to six months imprisonment with no option of a fine

Controversial cross-dresser Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky has been sentenced to six months imprisonment without any option fine for ab¥sing the Nigeria currency – naira.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court, Lagos, in her sentence, said the judgment will serve as a deterrent to others who are fond of abusing and mutilating the naira.

It would be recalled that Bobrisky was convicted by Justice Abimbola Awogboro last week Friday, April 5, 2024, for ab¥sing and m¥tilating the Naira notes following his arrest and arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFFC).

The court had fixed the date for sentencing after Bobrisky pleaded guilty to a four-count charge of tampering with the N490,000 by spraying brought against him by EFCC.
