The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Thursday, November 16, sacked Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara and declared the March governorship election in the state as inconclusive.
The court also ordered a rerun in three local government areas: Maradun, Birnin-Magaji and Bukkuyum.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Lawal winner of the March 18 governorship election.
But Bello Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenged the victory of Lawal, who ran under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The election tribunal in Zamfara had ruled in favour of Lawal but its ruling has now been overturned by the appeal court.
