DSS arraigns suspended CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, over alleged illegal possession of fir£arms and amm¥nition

The suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, on Tuesday morning, July 25, arrived at the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos where he will face trial for alleged illegal possession of fir£arms and amm¥nition.

Emefiele, who was brought by officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) at 09:21am, is standing trial on a two-count charge of possessing a single-barrel shotg¥n (JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371) without a licence.

Emefiele was arraigned before the vacation judge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo, Channels Television reports.

According to the report, the suspended apex bank chief pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.
