54-year-old man arrested for b£ating his girlfriend to d£ath over b¥rnt rice in Cross river

A 54-year-old suspect, Mr Nkeruewen Etuk,  who allegedly b£at his girlfriend to d£ath a few days ago has revealed that he did that because the lady car£lessly  b¥rnt his food (rice) and almost set their apartment abl@z£.

The suspect made the revelation on Friday, July 21, 2023,  when he was paraded by the Cross River State Police Command alongside 18 others, including an ex-convict and two  PHCN staff.

According to Vanguard, Etuk said that he never intended to k#ll his girlfriend identified as Ms. Esther Ndereke, but carried out the dast@rdly act out of ang£r.

He said, “I became increasingly outr@g£d by her failure to cook rice properly, which became a major point of contention between us, she almost b¥rnt down the house while cooking, she didn’t add enough water before t¥rning on the gas and she almost b¥rnt down the house.

When I asked her why she behaved that way that was when we started arg¥ing, and then I b£at her up, I never intended to k#ll her, I’ve never had any serious iss¥e with her for the past two years that we have been dating.

Unfortunately, our alt£rc@tion esc@lated, resulting in her trag#cdemis£ after she sl¥mped during the f#ght, it was never my plan to k#ll her, I was only angry because she was careless and almost b¥rnt down someone’s house,” Etuk said.

In a press briefing on Friday, the state Commissioner of Police. CP Gyogon Grimah confirmed the case and expressed gratitude to the media for their continuous support.

He encouraged the residents of Cross River State to speak out against cr#meand not remain silent.
