A moneylender of Indian nationality has been sh%t d£ad by a police officer at Yako Bank, Parliamentary Avenue, Uganda.
The suspect identified as Police Constable (PC) Ivan Wabwire sh%t and k#lled the money lender at Raja Chambers in the afternoon of Friday, May 12, 2023.
According to Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, “it’s alleged that at around 1230 hours, one Uttam Bhandari an Indian by nationality and the Director of TFS Financial Services was sh%t d£ad by police officer PC Wabwire Ivan. The deceased was k#lled with an AK47.”
Onyago said the suspect had acquired a loan with the company in 2020, and by the time of the incident, he had come to the victim to get a quotation to take to unidentified bank so that the bank buys off the loan.
However, Onyango added that the officer started arguing with Bhandari and “could not believe the amount in his balance that he is supposed to pay, leading to the sh@@ting. After the shooting, he jumped on a boda (bicycle) and rushed to CPS Kampala where he abandoned the k#ller g¥n,” he said.
KMP spokesperson noted that Police Constable Ivan Wabwire was barred from g¥n possession for 6 years due to a medical condition and had st%len the g¥n he used from a fellow colleague.
