APC’s Umar Namadi Dammodi declared winner of the governorship election in Jigawa State after polling 618,449 votes

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared APC’s Umar Namadi Dammodi winner of the governorship election in Jigawa state.

Returning Officer for the state gubernatorial election, Prof. Zayyanu Umar Birnin Kebbi, announced this at the Collation Centre in Dutse.

He said Malam Umar Namadi of the APC emerged winner after he scored the high votes of 618,449 to defeat other candidates.

“The candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) Namadi Umar Alhaji scored 618,449 to beat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lamido Mustapha Sule who scored 368,726 votes and Ibrahim Aminu Ringim of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) scored 37,156 votes.

Therefore, Umar Namadi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the higher votes, is hereby declared winner and returned elected,” he said.
