A 40-year-old man identified as Nuwel Ajagu, has been arrested for allegedly defiling his brother’s teenage daughter in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.

According to reports, the indigent happened in March, 2022. It is reported that the suspect who lives close to his brother lured the 13-year-old girl from her parent’s home at Bayeku Last Bus Stop to his apartment on Etubure Street also in Bayeku where he allegedly forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.

He allegedly stopped the victim from crying out for help by placing a pillow in her mouth and thre@tened her not to tell anyone. The mother of the victim found out about the u*ly incident and reported the matter to the police. Confirming the incident to newsmen, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the case was reported on April 13 and would be transferred to the gender office in Ikeja for further information.

He said the victim was taken to a health facility for a medical checkup while the suspect has been detained.
