A US-based Nigerian doctor, identified as Onyekachi Nwabuko, has been arrested by the police in Florida for allegedly att#cking a semi-unconscious female patient.
Law&Crime reports that the 44-year-old suspect, who works at the University of Florida Health Leesburg Hospital, repeatedly sl@pped the patient using the patient’s own hand because he believed she was faking a seizure.
He was arrested on Wednesday morning, February 16, after police responded to a 911 call about a possible b@ttery. He was subsequently charged with three counts of b@ttery, following statements from two registered nurses, a hospital director, and the victim.
According to the Police, the victim also appeared to have sustained a “significant facial inj#ry, swelling, redness, and br#ising to her left eye.”
Nwabuko was taken into custody and processed at the Lake County Jail in Tavares following the incident. He was released after posting bond of $3,000 (about N1.7 million) His arraignment is currently scheduled for March 3.
