136 abducted students released after 3 months in bandits den

The 136 abducted pupils of Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School, Tegina in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, have been released.


They were released on Thursday night, August 26, in Birnin Gwari LGA of Kaduna State after three months in captivity.

Around 136 school children were taken from the school in Tegina town in May but on Monday the school’s owner said that six had d*ed of illness.

Premium Times reports that the pupils were released after the payment of over N60 million and five new motorcycles as ransom to their abductors.
