Many were on Tuesday, July 13, reportedly k*lled as a team of Air Force personnel attached to one of the Military operations known as OP MESSA and traders clashed at popular vehicle parts market, called Ladipo Market in Lagos State.
Scores of traders sustained varying degrees of injuries in the clash that occurred on Tuesday morning, while their vehicles were riddled with bullets. A Toyota Hilux vehicle was also reportedly set ablaze.
It’s unclear what led to the clash but a trader who spoke with Vanguard said, “None of them (Air Force personnel) wore name tags. They fired directly at traders. One of the traders was shot in the stomach. Several persons sustained varying degrees of injuries in their bid to avoid being hit by bullets.
Many traders were shot. The shooting spree lasted close to one hour. While that was on, the Chairman and other leaders of the market contacted the Army and Commissioner of Police.” [Swipe]
