For not being allowed to smoke weed, Covid-19 positive Navy officer flees isolation center


A Naval officer who tested positive for Coronavirus, has escaped from the isolation centre in Oghara, Delta state, after threatening doctors and nurses with a jackknife.


SM Ahmadu was brought in on May 1, 2020, and was at the Isolation centre till Saturday, May 10, when he escaped.

According to a source, the navy officer had requested to smoke marijuana when he was brought to the centre last week but was disallowed. .

When asked what could have informed his action to abscond, sources said the officer appeared like a drug addict, adding that he looked like one suffering drug withdrawal syndrome.
