American Idol’s Music Supervisor Robin Kaye and Husband reportedly Sh%t D+ad in their U.S. Home, Suspect Arrested
Robin Kaye, a veteran music supervisor best known for her work on American Idol, has d+ed alongside her husband, Marc Deluca, in a case now being investigated as a homicide by the LAPD’s Valley Bureau.
Authorities confirmed on Monday that a suspect has been arrested, though no motive has yet been established.
Kaye had an extensive career in the music and television industry. According to her IMDb page, she served as music supervisor on American Idol for over 20 years, contributing to 288 episodes between 2002 and 2023. Her credits also include Miss USA, Miss Universe, NAACP Image Awards, Lip Sync Battle, Hollywood Game Night, and The Dance Scene, among others.
In a 2019 appearance on The Pop Disciple Podcast, Kaye shared her career journey, which began in Nashville with country legend Waylon Jennings. She later held positions at MTM Records and Sound Management before moving into music publishing and licensing roles at Universal and PolyGram Records. In 2000, she launched her own company, SyncroniCity, representing artists like Andrea Bocelli and Kenny Loggins before pivoting to music supervision for TV.
Kaye also served as Vice President of the Guild of Music Supervisors, cementing her role as a key figure in the music supervision industry.
Tributes have poured in from colleagues, including Phil Gurin, CEO of The Gurin Company, who worked with Kaye on numerous productions over two decades. “Robin was simply the best,” Gurin said. “She was a most trusted, valued, and important part of our team… with a positive attitude and infectious spirit. The entire community has lost a wonderful person.”
