Singer 2Face’s Fiancée, Natasha Osawaru, Removed as Minority Leader of Edo State House of Assembly
Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly and known partner of music star 2Face, has been removed from her position as minority leader.
Osawaru, who represents the Egor constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was ousted following a shift in legislative power after four PDP lawmakers defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The defections handed the APC a new majority in the house.
Her removal was part of a wider shake-up that also saw the exit of Charity Aiguobarueghian, the former majority leader, and Yekini Idaiye, the former chief whip.
Despite the changes, PDP’s Blessing Agbebaku and Maria Edeko retained their roles as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.
The leadership shake-up was triggered by a formal notification from Jarret Tenebe, the acting chairman of the APC in Edo State, informing the assembly of the party’s new majority status.
In response, Speaker Agbebaku announced the appointment of new APC leaders: Ibhamawu Aigbokhan (Esan West) as majority leader, Addeh Isibor (Esan North-East I) as deputy leader, and Lecky Hussein Mustapha (Etsako West I) as chief whip.
Agbebaku added that the PDP leadership would soon submit a list of nominees for the remaining principal positions. He also indicated that his position, as well as that of the deputy speaker, could be subject to review.
Osawaru has been in the public eye following 2Baba’s announcement in January of his separation from Annie Idibia and the confirmation of his relationship with Osawaru shortly after.
In February, the music icon proposed to her, clarifying that their relationship was not the cause of his separation. Osawaru recently updated her Instagram bio to reflect 2Baba’s surname, shortly after Annie reverted to her maiden name.
