The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday grilled former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, over allegations of misappropriating N138.4 million, breaching procurement procedures, and diverting public funds from the ministry’s 2023 budget.
Sources indicate that the ex-minister arrived at the EFCC headquarters around 11 am, where she was questioned about her alleged involvement in the financial misconduct. Investigations suggest that funds meant for the P-Bat Cares for Women Initiative were allegedly siphoned for personal gain.
Kennedy Ohanenye, who was appointed by President Bola Tinubu on August 21, 2023, was among the ministers dismissed from office in October 2024.
