Student D+ad, Four Inj¥red as School Building Collapses in Yobe

One student lost her life, and four others sustained inj¥ries after a section of a classroom block collapsed at Government Girls Science and Technical College (GGSTC) Potiskum, Yobe State. The tragic incident occurred around noon on Thursday as students were preparing to go for their lunch break.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Basic and Secondary Education, Bukar Aji, confirmed the incident, stating that the inj¥red SSII students are currently receiving treatment at Specialist Hospital in Potiskum.

He further revealed that the State Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has been directed to investigate the cause of the collapse and submit a report.

While extending condolences to the family of the deceased and sympathizing with the inj¥red students, Aji assured that the government is committed to maintaining school infrastructure to prevent such occurrences in the future.
