NSA Ribadu Sl+ms Canada Over Visa Denial to Defence Chief, Military Officials
National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, has strongly criticized the Canadian government for denying visas to Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, and other senior military officers.
Speaking on Thursday at the maiden annual lecture of the National Association of the Institute for Security Studies (AANISS) in Abuja, Ribadu expressed his displeasure, stating that Canada “can go to h£ll.”
His remarks came in response to General Musa’s revelation that he and his team were scheduled to attend an event in Canada honoring war veterans but were denied visas.
Musa described the incident as a wake-up call for Nigeria to strengthen its self-reliance.
Ribadu commended Musa for openly addressing the matter, adding that while the decision was disrespectful, it should serve as motivation to build a stronger Nigeria.
“Thank you for the courage to say Canada denied you visas. They can go to h£ll,” Ribadu said. “It’s p+inful and disrespectful, but we are peaceful and strong. I agree with you—it is time to fix our country. This is yet another reason to work harder to make Nigeria work.”
He also praised the CDS for his leadership in tackling insecurity, emphasizing that all security agencies are collaborating effectively across the country.
