Sanwo-Olu Ends Remote Work for Lagos State Workers from April 1
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the cancellation of the work-from-home initiative for public servants, marking the end of a policy that has been in place for over a year.
Effective April 1, 2025, all government employees are required to resume full-time, in-office work at their respective duty posts.
The directive was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Lagos State Head of Service, Bode Agoro. He noted that the decision aligns with ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare and efficiency of public servants following the implementation of the new minimum wage.
“Mr. Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has approved the cancellation of the work-from-home initiative in the Lagos State Public Service,” the statement read. “This directive takes effect from March 31, 2025.”
Public servants are encouraged to recommit themselves to their roles and improve service delivery across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). Accounting Officers have also been instructed to ensure widespread dissemination of the new directive.
