Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade has been arrested by the FBI over allegations of orchestrating a staged incident to bolster his electoral chances.
According to a report by The Daily Wire, federal authorities have referred Mayor Mobolade for prosecution, accusing him of making false statements in connection with a h+te crime hoax. The incident was allegedly intended to garner sympathy and increase voter turnout during his campaign.
On November 12, the acting U.S. attorney for the District of Colorado announced charges against three of Mobolade’s supporters—Derrick Bernard Jr., Ashley Blackcloud, and Deanna West. They are accused of defacing one of his campaign signs with a r+cial slur and setting up a b#rning cross near the site.
Reports indicate that the group allegedly recorded the incident and shared it with media outlets to sway public opinion and encourage higher Black voter turnout for Mobolade
