Author Omojuwa has shared his experience with bribe-seeking police officers in Abuja, revealing how he dealt with their attempt to extort N5 million from him.

He said Police stopped his car in Abuja. Someone else was driving. They said he is a Yahoo Boy, so he should sort them N1m. He said he’d rather call the owner of the car.

They call him and said the papers were expired. He told them that can’t be and he gave them the permission to search the car, that they will find the active papers there. But expired papers? That’s a de@d conversation.

Then they asked him for N5m. He told them that’s no problem. They should take the car and the man to their office, he will come and sort it with their bosses later.

After that call, they started asking him who he was from the guy who drove the car and he said he too doesn’t know. That he just knew him as his name. He now asked them what happened? They said he should go away, quickly. That was the end.
