Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has sparked outrage with comments made during a recent interview on the podcast Echoo Room with Quincy Jonze. Portable suggested that the late Afrobeats pioneer and activist Fela Anikulapo-Kuti passed away early because he “did not mind his business.”
In the interview, which has gone viral on social media, Portable criticized Fela’s dedication to fighting for Nigerians’ rights, claiming that Fela’s activism ultimately cost him his life.
