Abuja man who climbed a broadcast mast to end it all sent for mental evaluation.

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has taken swift action following an incident involving Shuaibu Yushau, who climbed a broadcast mast yesterday.

In an official statement, SP Josephine Adeh, the Public Relations Officer for the FCT Police Command, announced:

“We have sent Shuaibu Yushau, the man who climbed a broadcast mast yesterday, to the Social Development Secretariat for mental evaluation.

According to eyewitnesses, Yushau scaled the mast, causing widespread panic and alarm among residents and passersby.

The police were promptly alerted, and a team of officers was dispatched to the scene to persuade him to come down.

After hours of negotiation, Yushau eventually descended from the mast and was taken into custody by the police.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, on Tuesday, said that Yushau will be charged to court for attempted suicide, disturbance of public peace, and incitement if found to be mentally stable after the evaluation.
