Police operatives in Yobe State have arrested a 22-year-old housewife, Zainab Isa, for allegedly st@bbing her husband, Ibrahim Yahaya, 25, to d£ath at their home in Damaturu city.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Dungus Abdulkareem, in a statement said the C Divisional Police Headquarters received a complaint from a neighbor in Abbari Ward, Damaturu, that the couple had a vi%lent argument which escalated into a scuffle.
He said the neighbor of the couple told Police that the wife used a knife to st@b the husband in the chest, and he subsequently di£d from his grievous inj¥ry before the police rescue team arrived.
Confessing to the crime, the suspect said she did not intend to k+ll her husband but st@bbed him in self-defence.
She further stated that their marriage had been marred by vi%lence from the outset, often occurring when she requested food or money, and had continued even after the birth of their first child and the arrival of their second child, despite her husband’s inability to provide for their needs.
