The Katsina State Government has added Friday 12th April ,2024 as a public holiday to celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr.
In a statement signed by the state governor, Dikko Radda, and disseminated by the state Commissioner for Information and Culture, Bala Zango, on Tuesday, it was announced that an additional holiday has been granted.
The governor emphasized that this extra day off aims to enable workers in the state to fully engage in the Sallah festivities with their families. This decision coincides with the Federal Government’s extension of the Eid-el-Fitr public holidays to Thursday, April 11.
The statement titled, “Ed-Fitr: Gov Dikko Radda declares Friday, 12th April, 2024, work-free day’, read, “His Excellency the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umar Radda, has declared Friday, April 12, 2024, a work-free day.
Katsina State Government’s decision to declare Friday as a free day follows the good gesture of the Federal Government for extending Ed-fitr public holidays to Thursday, 11th of this month.
According to Malam Dikko Radda, his government has also taken this step to enable workers in the state to fully enjoy the Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebration with their families. Gov Radda then wishes the good people of Katsina state a happy and peaceful Sallah celebration. He further urged people to be security conscious and pray for peace to reign in the state and the nation at large as they celebrate this year.”
