After about 17 days in kidnappers’ den, the school children have regained their freedom, as announced by one of President Bola Tinubu’s spokespersons, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, in a Facebook post on Sunday, March 24.

“To God be the glory, all the 137 abducted school children in the Kuriga community have been rescued”, Mr Abdulaziz said in a brief statement he posted on his Facebook page in Hausa language.

Earlier, the school authority gave the number of abducted children as 287. It was not immediately clear whether the school authority was uncertain about the number of the abducted students or others are still in captivity.
