President Bola Tinubu will visit Qatar in March for bilateral discussions as scheduled despite reported rejection by authorities of the Asian nation.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, who disclosed this on Saturday evening, February 24, said Tinubu will visit both Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, on March 2nd and 3rd.
According to an earlier report by Peoples Gatteze, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Abuja, in a letter dated February 22, 2024, disclosed that the Qatari government would not be able to welcome Tinubu due to the lack of a legally binding agreement between Qatar and Nigeria for the promotion of investment, among others.
However, in a statement signed by Francisca K. Omayuli, Tuggar confirmed that Tinubu will visit Qatar, adding that the meeting aims to strengthen diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Qatar.

The Federal Republic of Nigeria and the State of Qatar have a long history of friendship and close bilateral relations. The forthcoming visit to Doha by HE President Tinubu will help build on this important relationship.
