My ex-soldier husband impregnated another man’s wife and he is now thr£@t£ning to k#ll me after absconding with my child — Mother-of-one cri£s out for help

A lady identified as Chioma Ebere from Abia State has cried out to Nigerians to come to her aid as her husband, an ex-officer of the Nigerian Army who was previously attached to the 145 Battalion HAIFA but fled away from Service, Mr. Olasunkani Akanni, is allegedly thr£@t£ning to k#ll her after impregnating another married woman identified as Queen Lucas in Aba.

Narrating her ordeal exclusively to an Abia Based Jouranalist and Blogger, Promise Uzoma Okoro, the lady said she got married to Mr. Olasuunkani Akanni in 2020 but the marriage has been filled with domestic v#ol£nc£ and all forms of a§§ault till date. She said that she has been enduring and refusing to leave the marriage because of what people will say.

Chioma revealed she summoned courage to speak up recently when she could no longer endure her ab¥§ive husband who has made life t£rrible for her. She noted that Mr. Akanni started b£@ting her when she was three months pregnant. She found out that he was having extra marital affairs with a married woman from Mbaise, Queen Lucas, who lives with her husband in Aba.

She further revealed that it was during this pregnancy period that her husband inflicted her with heavy inj¥ries. She’s now calling on Nigerians to come to her aid as her husband, on Thursday October 25, 2023, packed all her belongings and fled with her 1-year-old son together with the married woman he impregnated.

She said, “I got married to my husband Mr. Akanni from Ogun State in 2020. He’s an ex-solder who ran away from Service but still receives salary, and ever since then it has been all forms of domestic v#olence. He is thr£at£ning to k#ll me saying, the worst that could happen to him is that he ends up in jail. He chased me and our child away when the baby was 3-months-old.

“When our child clocked one year, he traced me to where I’m presently living and said we should get back get together as husband and wife. I told him to go to my village as our child won’t allow him to care for him. This man insisted I handed over our son to him. I refused and he started bEating me. He almost §tr@ngled me to dE@th. if not for one of his friends, Oga Ola, I’d have been dE@d by now.

He planned to st@b me to dE@th and abscond with our son but he didn’t succeed. This man almost k#lled my mother. Later, he begged me to return home saying that the married lady he impregnated had dYmped him. He said he was a changed man and that if I didn’t accept him back, he’d k#1 himself.

In May, I foolishly went back to him and the bEatings worsened. I know I was %olish to have returned o him and I still rEgrEt that decision till date. I have now been training my child as a single mother.

Last Sunday, when he returned home around past 9pm, he asked my younger sister staying with me to go get fuel at a far distance. I told him that it was late and @ngerous for her to go there that he should go himself or wait till the following morning. Mr. Akanni started hurling ins¥Iting words at me. He said since I didn’t allow my sister to run the errand, he’d go with our son to go get the fuel. I challenged him and he said if I stop him from going out, he will k#|I me. I ran to our landlord and asked him and his wife to help me talk to my husband. They advised him but he insisted on going out with our child very late in the night.

This man bEat me black and blue. I ran to my landlord’s apartment to seek refuge. Mr. Akanni later apologized and promised never to physically a§ §ault me again. So, on Thursday afternoon, he carried my child to buy biscuits for him across my shop. After purchasing the biscuits, he hopped on a bike and left. I thought it was one of those times where he’d go out with my son and return with him. An hour passed, and my son and husband were nowhere in sight.

Few minutes later, my landlord came to my shop and asked me if I was aware that my husband was packing out of the house? I said no. He told me that my husband was packing his things out of the
house with a lady and his junior brother assisting him. I was speechless and ran home to see things for myself. I got home to meet an empty house. Mr. Akanni had packed everything including my properties.

He ran away with my I year and 8 months old baby.He left a note saying that he has divorced me. He said if life permits, I’d see my child again else I won’t. I’m in severe p@ins and don’t know where to turn to. My child is gone with that ev#| man. I need help. Mr. Akanni must produce my child for me.”
