Men of the Ogun state police command have arrested three of its Inspectors caught on camera extorting commercial motorcyclists. In a statement released, the spokesperson of the command, SP Omolola Odutola, gave the names of the arrested officers as Inspector Ikhanorba Lucky, Inspector Paul Sunday, and Inspector Edwin Ekeogu.
Odutola said the Inspectors, on October 19, were involved in “an incident of professional misconduct while on visibility policing duty at Maawu Bus stop in Agbado area of the State.
Earlier on, an X user had shared the video of the officers extorting the motorists. The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, had reacted to the video saying the Ogun state CP will look into it.
