NDLEA discovers over $4.8 million and CFA57 million ‘count£rf£it notes’ in a commercial bus on Lokoja-Abuja highway

The National Dr¥g Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has discovered a whopping sum of $4,880,000 and CFA57 million suspected to be counterfeit notes during a stop-and-search operation carried out by its personnel on the Lokoja-Abuja highway.

NDLEA’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, October 15, said that the money was found in a commercial bus going from Lagos to Kano.

“NDLEA operatives on patrol along Okene -Lokoja-Abuja expressway on Tuesday 10th October intercepted a commercial bus coming from Lagos to Kano.

A search of the bus led to the seizure of Four Million, Eight Hundred and Eighty Thousand US Dollars ($4,880,000), and Fifty-Seven Million Céfa, (CFA57,000,000) suspected to be counterfeits,” the statement reads.
