N25,000 provisional pay rise for low-grade federal workers as intervention will now cut across all levels of workers — COS Gbajabiamila

President Bola Tinubu’s Chief Of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, has announced that the N25,000 provisional pay rise for low-grade federal workers as intervention will now cut across all levels of workers.

It should be recalled that in his Independence day broadcast, on Sunday October 1, 2023, President Tinubu announced that low-grade workers will receive an additional N25, 000 on their salaries for the next six months as part of measures to cushion the economic hardship being experienced since the removal of the fuel subsidy. The low-grade workers being junior workers from grade level 1-7.

Later on Sunday , the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) had a meeting with a Federal government delegation who are seeking ways to avert the October 3rd indefinite strike. After the meeting, Gbajabiamila spoke to newsmen where he mentioned that the increase will now cut across all workers.
