World Athletics (WA) has included the reigning World 100m hurdles champion, Tobi Amusan, in its official list of athletes billed to compete at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
Recall that on Tuesday, August 8, the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) released a list of 26 athletes, who will be representing Nigeria at the world championship which holds from August 19 to 27, 2023.
Tobi Abusan’s name was conspicuously missing from the list which comprised 11 male and 15 female athletes.
In a new development on Thursday, August 10, 2023, Amusan’s name has been included by the World body in an official list was published on its website.
However, her name was accompanied by the caveat that her participation is based on the ruling on the case with the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU).
Amusan’s exclusion may not be unconnected to her alleged doping scandal case.
